How would a reverse-opening hood present any greater danger than conventional hood? They're both big horizontal pieces of metal put in exactly the same position. I suppose one might argue that the rear hinges on conventional hoods would likely result in a hood buckling upwards instead of being pushed, but given that c900's have the leading edge of the hood anchored with some pretty beefy metal and the rear of the hood locked into strong metal brackers mounted to the firewall, it isn't going anywhere. FWIW, I have never once seen any c900 with a hood intrusion into the passenger compartment, and I've seen some pretty twisted cars in the junkyard.
I would not be surprised to hear that other cars with reverse opening hoods are not as well designed, but I have no first-hand experience to comment on that...
