All this arguing about if the pins will hold and the hood will crush is quite moot if you consider the width. Say a SUV slams into a C900 in a way that it only hits the hood an forces it directly back towards the cabin with no resistance (pins rusted through, i dunno). The hood is INTENTIONALLY WIDER than the pillars of the car. The hood does not fit through the front winshield. Very few other cars are like this, its one of the best safety features I've seen. These are one of the safest cars ever.

besides, NOTHING is safe if you get hit by a SUV, not even a SUV.. maybe a tank
