As someone who has parted out two of my deceased 900s, I can tell you that there are virtually no parts you can take off the car that are worth more than about $20. I would suggest listing the car on ebay, or better yet, Saabnet classifieds. If you are patient, I'd be willing to bet that you can find a Saab nut willing to come get the car (even if it means they have to tow it) if the price is right. It probably would be a good idea to go get the car and bring it back to your house since it might take a couple weeks (or more probably) to find a buyer.
How do you know for sure that the engine died? I would say more likely is that the head gasket has failed. The engines in these cars rarely just give it up with no notice, unless the oil ran out of it.
