Jeeps and Saabs aren't terribly reliable. They arent going to give you the reliability of a Toyota or Honda. Anyone who says Saabs are super reliable probably do the repairs themselves and they have never felt the sting of paying $1600 for a head gasket replacement. Saab mechanics charge more also. You also have to remember that if someone is selling a car used, they are probably aware of expensive problems that are going to need to be fixed soon. You have to decide how much $$ you want to get for your car, and how long youre willing to wait for someone who may or may not pay more. If someone is going to have to tow it, theyre going to be looking for a deal too. To be honest, an '86 900 with high miles and a dead engine isn't going to sell for much. I would say just get what you can for it. Good luck, let us know how it works out.
