I bought a '90 9000s "for my wife" five years ago, and this month got a '91 900TC "for my daughter". In my opinion, the fun car is the 900, but the "driving" car is the 9000. Driving the 9000 is like riding a rail. The 900 is pretty good on the road but doesn't compare to the handling of the 9000. Off the line, the non-turbo 9000 isn't as fast as the conv, but at 80MPH, in the 9000 you feel like your idling, and in the 900 you are Zooming. For fun, I'll take the TC any day. For comfort, the 9000 wins. As far as handling goes the 9000 wins no-contest. By the way, repair costs on these cars aren't much more than on my van. Just have to find someone who understands them. Oh yeah...the CT sucks gas like a sonofabitch, but...its a very cool car.
