i to would think to dump the old fluid, and remember to use dot 3/4
not dot 5
found dot 5 fluid can cause brake\clutch failure
not sure as to what the symptoms would be of failure but im sure its not good.
and as for the price to fix the coolant system,
i think they got stuck on the cars name (9000) and tried to charge that much, but then again we have no clue to what is wrong with it and it may need a new head gasket, and a new rad. but 2000 for that is a bit much,
if your good with tools and like to play around with cars keep the 900 running as you driver and rip into the 9000 if you need help with anything im sure the 9000-bb would be happy to help,
