If you feel the older car isn't going to provide you the
reliability (or feeling of reliability) you need, either in
terms of days in the shop or roadside breakdowns, and feel
the new one will, that just MIGHT be a reason. For me, getting
to work without a car is very difficult -- but my solution was
to keep the ford (no jokes!) AND get the convertible.
