My advice? Fix only what is absolutely necessary to keep the car in running conition eg the headgasket - and that should come in under 1000 easily, You can do without AC and squeeky bushings are not a big deal.
Frankly if the A arms, body and the rest of the engine are in good shape - you should hang on to it no question and then with a little free time, work on the other things over a year or so. Your "payments" will still come in under what it would take to buy/lease a new /used car.
Your best investment is Bentley - you could do the head job yourself!
