I once read an add about the newer NG 900 being a better ride and handling then the older classics. After I purchased a really nice used 96/900s I soon realized that there's NO WAY as nice in the handling department. The NG/900 are on a Opel Vector based chassis. The whole engine and transmission sits higher up than the lower classic 900. Try getting a 91 or newer. You'll want to look at the body area where the axles go through. It's a big collection of road funk and can rust-out in this area. You just can't go wrong with a classic 900 and the Saabnet site is the true and friendly place for part and trouble shooting. Good Luck.
