...but this is a considerable mess-about.

The '88-'91 system has all four amplifier channels in the back of the head unit cage, located above the climate control knobs.

The '92/up system (also fitted to '92-'94 9000s) has the amplifier for the front channels in the head unit cage which goes above the climate control knobs, while the amplifier for the rear speakers is a separate box which in a stock '92/up C900 lives under the back seat, connected by a DIN cable.

In a C900, extension cables are required to connect the '92/up head unit cage (meant to be located above the climate control) to the CD/EQ cage (meant to be located below the ash tray) -- 9000s don't require these extension cables.

So, the very least you will need from a '92/up 900 is the head unit cage, equalizer/cd unit cage, head unit itself, eq/cd unit itself, 2 extension cables that connect these two cages together, the amplifier from under the back seat, the cable which connects the amplifier to the head unit cage, and you'll also require the connector that goes to the rear speaker amp which provides it with power, ground, and has the outputs to the rear speakers--this can just be snipped out of the donor wiring harness with a few inches of wire to splice to.

If I wanted to do this quick and dirty, I'd mount the rear speaker amp somewhere behind the dash, so I'd have to do minimal screwing around with getting power to it and running/rerouting cables.

Hope this is somewhat clear...
