How are you going to splice in the ecu? Are you moving that over to. The 87 has a 16pin ecu that the harness hooks to while the 91 has a 20pin or 32pin (I forget which it is) but that's going to be an issue. You'll have to use the 91 distributer in the 87 which will be fine (the 87 has a different style plug to the dist than the 91)
I tapped in a 91 style plug in my 88 motor harness and am running the 91 dist in a 88 no probs.
Personaly I'd refab the 87 motor harness (cut the wires running through the fire wall and use the 91 harness to rebuild the 87's harness. Use the 87 air mass meter, the ecu won't work with the 91amm, and use the 91 distributer withe the plug from the harness (splice it into the 87 harness the 91 has a way better plug. otherwise its mostly plug and play.
