go through the site sponsors list, there are a few like goldwing that specialize in used parts.
The swap procedure is doable but given your situation I would not hope the bad on is good enough. The typical failure is they wear a groove in one side of the cup (the driving-race) so when you swap it to the other side it would only cause vibration driving in reverse. Long story short, the cup is held into the case with a circlip. the piece of the case it's attached to is also holds the differential carrier race. You would disassemble one side, remove the axle, put it back together without an axle, then pull the other side swap it out, and finally go back to the first side to put a driver back in.
