I think the non-turbo are higher compression and just adding the turbo needs some serious consideration. The APC is much better to have than not. Engine detonation is like taking a hammer to the engine and you can't always hear the damage happening. The conversion can be done an I think it's great that you want to do it, just don't want to see you blow the engine. There should be a 9" pressure plate and clutch disc with your change from the non-turbo 8.5" With the distributor change, the turbo model uses a vacuum system that retards the advance under load. Just have to make sure your vacuum lines are correct. Keep us posted on the progress.
