I got kind of desperate since I need to drive to work in the morning. I pretty much cut out all of the saab harness and hooked up wires directly to the poles on the motors. I was then able to move the seat into a fairly ok position by attaching a wire to the + terminal on the car battery and another wire to a chassis ground and switching the connections back and forth. I say fairly ok since I missed one of the wires when I had the seat out (the one that controls front up and down) and don't have time to remove and reboot tonight. The replacement seat ecu for mid-year 1996 car is hard to find and very costly. I am going to try to locate a manual seat and get rid of the wiring mess. I lived most of my life without electric seats and don't think they are worth the hassle. Cheers!
