Well I've got Rotella 15w-40 in there right now. Unfortunately no change in noise, I think it may be getting worse. I really am starting to worry that I'm beyond a remedy oil wise. My father is an Amsoil dealer and I may get some 5w-40 euro spec oil from him. I really don't know where to turn now. This afternoon I started the car after work and waited a good 15 mins for it to stop ticking.

I looked in the owners manual, it only specifies 10-30, 10-40, 5-30, and 5-40. I did not see anything about 15-40. Also, I spent a LOT of time in the store the other day looking at the back of oil jugs trying to find something that matched the API service ratings and couldn't find one that did. Maybe I'm blind and didn't see it but it just made me more confused as what to use. I've NEVER had this problem with what oil to use. Makes me feel horrible, I really don't want to ruin the engine. Again, maybe the oil isn't the problem, maybe it's progressed too far for oil to cure what ails it.

Anyone ever replaced lifters or know what's involved in doing so? In any case, thank you all for your responses! Keep on Saabing!
