I jest, but really, they aren't fun like that. I'm also in Portland, why not ask to take the car to the guys over at Atomic? They're amazing and can really give you an idea of what you're getting into.
I bought my 94 5spd at near similar mileage. Here's the typical list of issues:
Transaxle replacement (I don't recommend a rebuilt)
Speedometer transducer failer ($20 on top of transaxle)
Direct Ignition cassette failure (the equivalent of spark plug wires)
Motor mounts and transmission mount (also the top mount might rip off from the strut tower)
Sperpentine belt + tensioner + idler
Water pump
Radiator
Rear of exhaust rusts out (HIGHLY recommend a 3" turbo back)
Fan Blower motor (kind of a PITA to replace)
AC Compressor clutch (gets worn and doesn't engage properly)
