Pressure to the FD is strong. Posted by BAAB [Email] (#1214) [Profile/Gallery] (more from BAAB) on Tue, 16 Feb 2010 20:15:47 In Reply to: Re: MORE DETAILS...., DrewP, Tue, 16 Feb 2010 19:28:20 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
From the picture you can see the one line going to the top center port of the FD. The other end is connect to the line that goes to the warm up regulator. It will not fit on the line coming from the filter. The fitting don't match.
Fuel pressure is not the problem. I am getting plenty of pressure building as the pump relay leads are connected. I just did the injector test at 1.5 bar but it was at 2.5 bar and climbing before I turned off the pump (not sure how high I can go without causing problems).
The old FD provided good injector spray even at 1.5 bar and the car almost ran, but the injector had a constant leak which flooded the engine too much to run.
The new FD fixed the constant leak, but now nothing is being sprayed at the same pressure that the old FD did spray.
Does this sound like the pressure regulator in the FD to you? I guess I can compare the regulator shims between the old FD and the new FD and see what the difference might be. I am just trying to get a better understanding on how this part works.
Thanks again!
