I have some really great news! We worked on the car this weekend. After taking a risk and believing the prior owner that the car was working & running when he bought it other than the injector lines leaking, we decided to proceed with the fuel system and not mess with the wires right now.

So, we used some starting fluid to get the motor running and then I used vice grips to manipulate the air control valve and the fuel distributor. After keeping the car running for about 15 minutes we reattached the rubber air flow manifold and were able to start the car, keep it running and then it even idled.

So, we decided to take it for a spin on the highway and sort of blow it out, after putting in some higher octane gas and fuel injector cleaner. The car ran well, smooth and with decent power even heading up the mountain at 6000-7000 ft above sea level. There was a small amount of fuel leaking out of the attachment into the bottom, front part of the warm up regulator.

After about 25 minutes, coming back down the highway mountain road, and braking, the engine died. We could smell fuel and turned off the engine and coasted about 10 miles and pulled off at a safe spot. We discovered that the end of the fuel line, right above the nipple, where it goes into the top of the fuel warm up regulator had exploded, like burst open. Looked like an aneurism that had blown. We were able to repair it and get the car home. Any ideas to what happened and any suggestions what to do next? Again, we thank you so much for your time & expertise.
