Jonathan; Gas used over 450 miles, and oil used over 450 miles are apples and oranges.
saab sought reduced smoke at all times, lower oil costs/year over pre mix oil costs/year=miles equal
and better durability performance with the motor receiving oil exactly where friction/need occurs.
on I-70 across Kansas's 424 miles at 65 mph where oil tank took 30 OZ to refill to filter screen top.
from Denver to Ohio is where the sight tube made me nervous about true oil level, I added 2.7 quarts at 1325 mile point.
The oil pump when benching wars to not turn primer slotted screw with electric drill as internal gear reduction is severely over RPM and stressed, often breaking.
Oil as delivered in the block pipes is advanced about 2 drops at a time and the rpm of motor top oil delivery pulse is about 800 engine rpm to one OF THE 7, JUST ONE of the 7 circuits, getting 2 drops applied into the feed wire tube. oil is allotted and measured in this small small quanity and offered into the pipe and is advanced through the pipe, not under pressure, but more like 2 drops got added behind the previous oil 2 droplets in that same pipe.
