I won't ever claim that the miles per gallon of gasoline and the miles driven per quart of oil injected will have a direct, linear, invariable, X = Y/n graph plot line.
W.O.T. operation will use more gasoline at a given rpm than at less load, but the oil delivered will be the same due to the same rpm.
40 mph in 3rd will inject more oil per mile than 40 mph in 4th, due to the higher crank and oil pump rpm.
"Your mileage may vary" is equally as true for gasoline as for injected oil.
The oil pump, pressure switch, and the "relay" system was the most time consuming and least logical part of my Sonett's revival from 25 years dormancy. It all works (Yay! Finally!), but I still don't completely trust it, so I'm using a 'trust, but verify' mentality. My calculated gasoline/oil usage 'ratio' for me is no more than some reassurance to me that the oil pump is indeed delivering a reasonable amount of oil to those bearings and walls.
Had my calculated estimate indicated a 20:1 gas:oil ratio I'd be concerned.
Had it indicated an 80:1 I'd be concerned.
I think somewhere about 40:1 is OK.
As I get more data from more top-off and measurements I expect to gain greater accuracy and more confidence to undertake my own 1300 mile trips.
But 'baby steps' for me until then.
