Looks like you have an expansion tank on the side of the radiator, but it looks like an extra fitting on it? What is that? Ref your first picture.
The system should have a totally sealing cap on the radiator side. Expansion should go from the radiator to the expansion bottle. Should be a hose that goes from the top of radiator to the bottom of the expansion tank. The bottle should have a cap that opens at 3.5 to 4.2 psi per the Saab factory manual. I think people go with a 5 psi rated cap with no problems.
