as the Saab engines, so if you want to take ECU upgrades into consideration, it's way easier to get more power out of the Saab engines than the 1.8T. It has a tiny turbo and the engine components are weak.
The new engine in 9-3SS is less heavy duty than the old Saab 4 cylinder turbos, but I'd bet it's still stronger than the 1.8T.
