in this thread. Actually it's more sad than anything, considering that the NG900/9-3 isn't half the car the 9-3SS is. I don't own a 9-3SS, but I wouldn't mind owning one in the future, whereas I would *never* consider buying a NG900/9-3. They may have the advantage of a hatch and marginally more powerful engines, but the god awful suspension and chassis just disqualifies them as fun cars to drive. I've seen the NG900 cars described as handling like "a garden tractor with 4 flat tires", and it's not all wrong. I know this will upset the majority of NG900/9-3 owners, but I just have to write it after seeing all the unwarrented negative remarks on the 9-3SS from the NG900/9-3 owners.
Bottom line is: The 9-3SS is a better car than the NG900/9-3 could ever hope to be. It's far safer, extraordinarily better handling because of the much stiffer chassis, better looking (to most people) and far better suited for a high output engine.
The negatives are all easily corrected as opposed to the deep seated problems of the NG900/9-3. If you want more power just wait a couple of months and get an ECU upgrade. Even the absence of a hatch is probably not going to last much longer.
