Yes, keeping you cars tank on the full side is a good idea to prevent condensation from forming during drastic weather swings and putting water into your gas. Sometimes though, the gas you buy from the station already has some water in it, thus switching stations for the next fill up is worth a try. I have been told that in winter diesel big rig truck drivers, before filling up with the 100 or more gallons the trucks tank holds, will take a sample from the pump into a glass collection jar to check for water content in the diesel fuel.
