This is a negative temperature coefficient (NTC) sensor that provides the input for ICE computer module for running the radiator cooling fan relays, as well as the temperature gauge in dash instrument cluster. With an ohm meter, sensor should be around 2000 ohms cold and around 150 ohms when the fan switches on. If this device is open circuit, there is no dashboard meter display and a good chance that engine will overheat, due to radiator fans being inoperative. This sensor is separate from NTC that engine computer uses as input for fuel injection.
