I would not bother to do a temporary "flush" with 10w-30 motor oil, all that will do is leave some 10w-30 oil in the tranny to mix with what ever gear oil you put in there permanently. Motor oil and gear oil are not the same. Flushing is best done with the fluid you intend to leave in there. I would just drain the old fluid and refill with proper level with Redline MTL, and skip the flush. Others on this board have had good experience with Redline MTL. It is a little pricey, but you can get it mail order for about $15 a qt. delivered. I recently got a couple quarts and plan to put in my 2001 9-3 as preventative medicine as my car is nearing 100k.
If you go with Saab gear oil, I beleive you will need to get the Saab MTF 0063, which was an upgraded oil put into 2002 and up Saabs, and is what is recomended for 99 and up model years. Switching to Saab MTF 0063 requires you drain and fill the tranny 3 times with the MTF 0063 to flush out the old fluid. This would be a more expensive than just doing a drain and refill with redline MTL.
