next project, fitting cornering lamps to the viggen and 9-5 aero the sockets are there but no bulb holders .(or wires )
The sis in laws 99 '9-3 cv we had them . I'm sure there was an OEM wire harness and relay as there were extra wires and some electrical device that turns them on when ya ' turn on the turn signal and keeps the light on until you complete the turn ? (they don't blink ! ) Anyway, so we sus we need two of the wiring harness and what components controlled the lights? else' i'll have to engineer it and fancy electrical fabrication is a pain thx amigos
A friend of my bro' said there are not fitted in the UK Really? no cornering lamps? (in the UK )? my bro said " look at the base, inside the fog /driving lamp housing you will see a shiny chrome plug blocking off the hole where the light would stick up !" amazing no one noticed it? (and retrofitted lamps ) I am told by the Aussie chaps the 900 and 9000 had it and my sis in laws 99' 9-3 SE cv had them(since sold, hence no handy reference !) I'm going to fit them to the families later 9-3 (02') & 01'-9-5 but: what keeps the cornering light lit steadily whilst the turn signals are flashing? can't recall ! and need that part (3 actually 2 and a spare ) FYI, we used progressively brighter bulbs up to the 50 watt halogen (the OEM socket is a std single filament taillight bulb type ) eventually we melted a socket (the metal contacts are barely adequate ) now we shall try some of the new H-1 or H-3 LED or HID kits -should run cooler eh ? and wire w/ a proper relay (and diode ) to not upset the delicate, expensive Saab computers!
