I hate to add more fuel to this very tired fire, but you are wrong. GM is not merely rebadging a Chevy. The 9-7 will have an entirely new interior and a completely changed exterior, more than just a grill and headlights--it will even have a center counsel ignition. According to the dealers who have seen the prototype, it is very different from the Chevy.
As for engines, it would be great if they could put a turbo in there, but more likely it will get GM's straight 6, which is a really nice engine. I would imagine it will have airbags everywhere and other safety features included that are not in the Chevy.
Why don't we all just wait and see what they come up with. Everyone was up in arms before the 9-3SS came out, and except for the moaning about the lack of a hatch, pretty much everyone agrees it is a great car.
Enough said.
