...ugliness/beauty of car design. Judging by the posts on this site, it appears most dislike the Bangle BMWs.
Shifting gears a bit, how many of us pay the same amount of attention and detail to other design objects in our daily lives? I see most of us who use this board as very passionate about the designs and functionality of our cars.
Just out of curiosity, do most of you have the same level of appreciation/enthusiasm/passion for your homes, furniture, and clothes (to name just a few items)?
I'll admit that I'm very particular about my everyday surroundings. When buying my home, it had to embody a certain architectural form. I refuse to furnish my home with anything from Pottery Barn (ugly to me) or IKEA (don't like the lack of quality) or any of the major mainstream furniture retailers because I think the designs are absolute eyesores. On the other hand, I get a hard-on for Jonathan Adler pottery and my newly acquired B&B chaise.
As for clothes, I'm very conscious about the way clothes are cut, the way they drape, the textures, etc. I really appreciate the craftsmanship and thought a designer puts into their clothes. This is much the same way we seem to be so in love with some of our cars' features. It doesn't mean I spend a fortune on my clothes, but I'll be judicious about what I buy.
So do most of you also feel the same about other things or is it just cars? I'd like to hear from you.
