like others have said, slowing down to a crawl is the best and most amusing fix. I did this once on the NYS Thruway to a couple of very young girls in a Honda Civic. On the cell phone, chewing bubble gum, yapping, whatever ....they were tailgating me badly so I tried the brake check thing, but that didn't seem to get the message across, so I gradually, gradually I say, over about 2 miles !, slowed to about 35 MPH until they suddenly woke up and blasted past me with the funniest puzzled look on thier faces. Then gradually sped up to blow by them and out of sight. That made my day. Of course 35 MPH on a road like that is just as dangerous as 135 MPH, use discrection.
