you can get some good information from AAA, if you're not a member sign up, as i believe there is a cross affiliation with the CAA.
the roads are not an issue, max speed is usually 100kph (62 mph) but higher on major freeways interprovincially. It will be usual warm and muggy east coast weather, although winds do blow off the atlantic so if at shore dress in layers.
the people are usually friendly, camping spots are available, and there are any number of hotels along the way. expect gas prices to be higher (.85-1.00/litre 3.78L/us gallon). food prices will usually be higher as well on some things, beef was ridiculous not too long ago.
the us dollar is averaging about 1.25 canadian, so will help. no booze at local grocery stores, banks not open late usually, so depending on your needs may have a few adjustments to make.
it is a great country, very pretty, and nice people tolerant of most things. the bay of fundy is truely amazing to see in terms of differences tween high and low tides, but you can have fun either poking around in small towns or in the bigger cities. fishing is unfornately on the decline, so don't know how good fresh fish is now.
hope this helps a little, have a blast and dont forget your passports!
mark :-)
