because of the length of time it takes to reinstall everything. If I have to do this, I will. But just things like (re)setting all of my settings, etc., takes forever, not to mention downloading web browsers, updates to software, all my shareware (and finding all the keys for them), etc. For intance, I run Nod32 as my virus program. I can download that and reinstall, but how do I get my key for it (i.e., register it)? I don't really remember how.
So, if I just copy one drive to another and then mark my new drive as "bootable" (in older DOS terminology), then I could just be operating on the new drive. Hmmm...If Ghost allows me to mark one drive as a "system" drive, then copy everything from one drive to another, I could do that.
When you say you're trying Ghost 2003 because you're running RAID, what does that mean? What I'm really trying to do is copy my C: IDE drive to a brand new RAID 0 (SATA) array. I then want to use my old C: IDE drive as a backup for my new RAID 0 array until my old drive is too small, then I'll buy an external USB backup drive.
Thank you for the help!
