One way you could do it is to plug in the RAID card and drives, boot into your old drive, install the RAID driver, go into your disk manager and create the new partition and bring that online within your existing operating system. Then use the Ghost clone disk feature and make a copy of your old drive on the newly created array partition. After that dosconnect your old drive and make sure you can boot off of your new array to verify integrity.
One issue you will have is that you won't be able to ghost back onto the old drive unless the partition is the same size or larger than the other partition.
The only reason I mentioned I was running a RAID 0 is that a zero actually more than doubles your chances of an unrecoverable loss--so there's extra need for a backup. I've always heard that there are only 2 types of hard drives: those that have failed and those that are going to fail.
