race cars where every conceivable advantage is deemed necessary, but IMHO it is 99.9% BS even there. If everything else is equal--including the driver--I don't see how the type of air in the tires can make a quantifiable difference even on a race track. Too many other variables.
On a regular road car it can't possibly make any difference in performance, and I doubt that it makes a real difference in the life of wheels and tires. Again, too many bigger variables and external influences.
I think it is a way for tire and speed shops to sell something useless to people who dont' know any better--especially the ricer boys with their fart can exhausts.
If you want to really get an advantage, how about using helium? It is lighter than nitrogen, so you'd reduce unsprung weight and maybe even go faster!
