Since every car is a little different, I also like to test the blind spots in the driveway. The idea is to park a bicycle in various areas that would be considered the blind spot and see what it takes to see the bicycle from the driver's seat. You then tweak your mirror position. If you can see a bicycle, you can see a motorcycle, which means you can see any car.
For those that like to use their mirros while backing up in a tight spot, it is necessary to see the side of the car. But if you can tilt your head to the side to see the side of the car with the mirrors set properly, all is well.
