If you have a GPS and make a wrong turn it redirects you, automatically, with minimal fiddling. Even the dinky little GPS in my phone does this. And it can pull up restaurants, hotels, gas stations, ATMs, etc., too. And I can take it with me when I leave the car and am walking, and it works in a strange city in a rental car. That's if I bother to use it.
Accidents invariably seem to get reported, OnStar or not.
The integration with the AC fan isn't much of a selling point. It's not very hard, after all, to reach over and turn down the AC.
Whatever happened to personal responsibility and being self reliant? Read a map, plan a route, take a road that isn't on the map, maybe get lost, discover a restaurant or inn that's not a chain, have some fun. And teach your kids to do the same. It's a lot better than being held by the hand by some electronic Mary Poppins.
The purpose of life is not to arrive at the grave in a well preserved body, having never taken any risks, but to slide in sideways, totally worn out, shouting holy cow, what a ride!
