You do get what you pay for. Apple spends a majority of their money on brand image and advertising; in other words, they pay you to think their products are better than they are. I'm sure some of their products are fine, but I will not buy from a company like that. An example of hype not living up to reality is their flagship product, the iPod. Notoriously terrible sound quality (something that should be priority #1), but it's got that giant button in the centre of it that people seem to think is great for some reason. It's more expensive than better mp3 players. Then they convince you to sign up for a service to pay for the right to download songs you then have limited access to. This, mysteriously, is considered the mp3 player to beat... the mystery is not how they did it, but how people fall for it.
