But I much prefer the light produced by the H7 lamps in my '08 9-5 to the HID Xenon lamps in the wife's '06 9-3SC. Especially the Phillips VisionPlus H7 lamps I installed 10 days ago!
At eight years of age the Xenons in your wife's car may have lost a good percentage of their lumens. Whereas incadescent lamps tend to work until they fail, HID lamps continuously lose light output at a very slow rate over their entire life making it difficult to know when to replace a lamp. HIDs are well past their life expectancy, and well below their average light output, when they start to flicker.
