hey it is not about safety anymore. It is about revenue for nearly bankrupt states, and it is about overtime for police and paying state employees salaries that are far above the general public.....and about paying their incredible benefits and retirements. All voted on and approved by politicians who want to be reelected. You and I who pay the bills have no vote in what they earn.
So protect yourself. Get a radar detector. Get a laser shifter. Get a police frequency scanner. It is not about speeding it is about revenue.
I have a close relative who attends police pre-shit briefings in an official capacity. We have no quotas in CA, but at the end of most briefings the officers are reminded to write tickets because they need the revenue.
I have a bearcat scanner in my 911 and it is amazing the great that has saved me on the mountain roads around here. You hear the CHP talking about you before they see you.
Yesterday I was on the PCH going into Santa Monica 4 Sheriff cars and 2 motorcycles in 5 mile stretch....all writing tickets. Very light traffic because it was mid-morning and this is a 4 lane highway with 45 MPH speed limit.....easy pickings. My radar detector picked up all of them before I could see them.
It is a jungle out there....END OF RANT.
