I had way more confidence driving my c900 with old, worn out high performance all season tires than my Subaru Impreza 25RS with new winter tires. My c900 would go through snow like a tractor.
NG900 was not quite as good but when snow arrived my wife always preferred to drive the NG900 vs the AWD Impreza. Very controllable on slippery pavement.
All my AWD manual transmission Subarus were very unstable in snow. Older ones with no center diff (on-demand 4WD) could cut through deep snow but were very unstable at higher speeds. Newer ones with viscous center diff were hopeless without good winter tires. The only Subaru I knew to be fairly good on slippery roads was my parents' front-wheel-drive Impreza with Arctic Alpins.
