That was my plan too. I still have the Owner's Manual which includes a single instruction step on doing this, but they use the term Generator rather than Alternator. A full-color card with the old Pramac model line-up is in the envelope as well and it identifies only one generator model, all the rest are brushless alternator models.
So was their use of the term generator in this sole step a careless use of a generic term? Or does it apply only to the sole generator model?
I will find out soon. Pramac stores their residual charge in a can type electrolytic capacitor rather than relying upon residual magnetism in the iron components. That may make a difference as well
Strange that I have never heard of the need to keep the residual fields charged on emergency generators before. Maybe most people use their machines often enough that they never need to re-flash them.
