Not only did the unit power a 60w trouble light after 13 years of sitting in its original shipping box in my garage, but the Honda engine started on the first pull!
I had filled the crankcase with oil at time of purchase but had never put gas in the tank or started the unit. This morning I poured a small amount of stabilized gas in the tank, pulled the rope three times with no choke just to get gas sucked to the carb, then set the choke and pulled once more.
The Honda started and purred perfectly. Plugged in my trouble lamp (after first checking that it would operate from a wall outlet) switched it ON and I had light!
