We considered a Buick TourX but the car is much larger than what we need. One advantage is that the stupid Stop-Start feature can be easily disabled on these cars with a $138 hidden add-on.

My wife likes the new small Subaru, SporTrek?, but I have grave concerns regarding any CVT transmission.

I was also looking at CPO Volvo V60CC cars, many were under $24K with less than 20K miles. Or Carvana cars of the same model without the CPO warranty. Local Volvo dealers seem to have zero CPO versions of these cars but dealers in the Pittsburgh area, where both boys now live, always seem to have a few on their lots.

I told my wife that I would like to replace her 105K mile 2006 9-3SC with something new(er) since that is what we drive for long trips. I would be content to continue driving my 200K mile 9-5 or, or a low mileage replacement 9-5, or a funky old pick-up. I spotted a 1947 Hudson pick-up, fully resto-modded, for $17K, and insanely low mileage 9-5's do pop-up for sale occasionally.
