Love the looks of the Audi A5, and used or lease probably works with your price range.
I bought a used BMW 328 GT and love it. Its a surprisingly big car, and the hatch is very useful.
Its my second automatic, and having tested most of them, it drives and shifts really nicely.
Can handle anything the saab could, just comes with the caveat that repairs are not so DIY. I'm glad I purchased the service plan, which has already paid for itself with new brakes and services.
When going over options with my wife, I showed her the GT to which she said: "Looks like a saab." (slight negative tone). I said "Yup, we pick it up Tuesday."
And with that said, she loves driving this car as well. Just beware BMW and option packages.
