While I must admit that the build quality is not bad
and the reliability superb under "pathetic" driving
conditions I have serious doubts about the quality
under what I call "realistic" driving conditions.
Jap cars tend to disintegrate in my use when I start
to "drive em my way" Audi and VWs fare no better., damaged
engines (1 Toyota, 1 VW, 1 Audi, 2 Mitsubishi) shocks that
are dead in 20000 miles, gearboxes in 15000 miles etc...
All stuff I am not used to even from Italian cars, as well as brakes
that are a total loss after 20 miles of rapid driving...
1Audi, 1VW, 3Toyotas, 3 Mitsu., and 1 Mercedes...
Lexus brakes just had enormous fading but did not warp... oh well...

(I drove 3 Lexus cars)
A friend of mine owns 2 Lexus cars, previous had 1 and
the cars drive nicely but are NO fun. The old LS400
he had was nice but no fun at all, the newer LS is much
better but not close to my Aero in fun and effective speed
on the road. The RX300 is kind of cheap with more squeaks
and rattles than my ex. 1995 Opel hmmm power is simply
absent. My wife's Opel Astra is a lot faster...

So while Lexus and Acura might be the "SMART MONEY" choice
they simply do not provide what I expect most from a car,
the fun, the grin on my face and the happiness I get from
my Aero every day driving around. + the safety!

AND most important, a gearbox, brakes and an engine that
don't go bang when I race up the Julierpass (max 2500m) in the
summer with outside temps around 35C plus.

So after all, I guess we SAAB drivers simply have different
values... my life is simply worth more then maint and a little
higher resale value...

Regards,
Coolknight
