One early spring night, I was taking my freeloading cousin from Montreal to a hockey game here in Calgary. So far so good. I don't know who won.
On the way home, I hit a pothole and PRANG! tie rod end busted and the damn '79 900T landed flat-faced on the street.
Figuring for mucho donero, I had a thought. "I wonder", I said to myself, "what the insurance folks would say about this financial sinkhole."
Next day I called them and explained I was going to be out the cost of a new front end and a tranny, which took much of the brunt of the collision.
Sure enough, they were good enough to call my experience a "collision" -"with the road"! And for the $200 deductible, I got a brand new front end, wheel-joiners and a transmission out of it.
WAHOOOOO!
