Calm down! I understand that old turbos and new turbos are different - in fact I'm sure that just about everything in the world is built better than they were 14 years ago. I was giving my opinion based on my (quoted specifically) very limited experience. He didn't ask anything about new versus old...but if you read his post, he SPECIFICALLY mentions a new A4 1.8T engine. Therefore...I thought (and still think) that my response was VERY relevant to his question. I compared a new A4 turbo with my only Saab turbo experience. Read carefully before trying to point out someone else's mistakes - and there's no need to be defensive about old Saab turbos...in case you missed that comment in my post, I'll quote it for you:
"I had a 1988 900TC and I thought it was great - I didn't notice that it had any lag until I drove the Audi."
So there you go...
Josh
