If the necessity arrives to drive in the snow just decrease the air pressure to increse traction. I did this with my all-season Dunlop SP Sport 5000 tires during one storm and I passed every(!) SUVs on the highway with 5" of heavy snow on the ground. I live in CT and the big snow storms are few and far between, it’s the ice storms that you have to worry about and neither tire type will give an advantage for those.
