a discussion of my shoes, rather than my lack of shoes. Interesting...
Is there some kind of stigma attached to skateboard shoes, or the Airwalk brand in particular? Something on the level of Hippie-Birkenstocks or Punk-Doc Martens? (Neither of which I've ever owned) Surprisingly enough, they have lasted far longer than I ever expected, putting Nike, Addidas, Converse, Columbia, and particularly North Face shoes I've owned over the past few years to shame. I initially bought them for freestyle footbag (aka Hacky-Sack), and have noticed that some people are impressed somehow by the brand name. I am only familiar with the fact that they had been making skateboard gear for a long time before branching into snowboard stuff.
Just when you thought you had me stuffed into a nice little stereotypical cubbyhole, something squirts out and intoxicates you with potential...

I'd like to end this tangent by declaring that my value of function over fashion is the main reason I found this website, followed by a rant.
Yes, I will continue to drive barefoot when comfort dictates, even after careful consideration of the risks involved. I will also continue to jump off of cliffs and/or bridges, exceed most posted highway speed limits, play with illegal fireworks on July 4th, hurl myself down steep snow-covered mountainsides, swim out past the breakers, eat fried chicken wings covered with concentrated habanero pepper sauce, listen to amplified music, drink unfiltered and unpasteurized ale, and occasionally run with scissors.
