.......................It's not a country's ability to print money
that determines its' wealth, but the ability to produce things.
The US has a lot of historical preconditions to its' having the
currency that is most speculated.....however, of more importance is its' ability to actually produce material things, of which it has been in decline for quite a few years now. We have become, predominantly, a producer of services. Some view this as a good thing. I would
argue that the ability to produce things that promote growth of
infrastructure is essential for 'national security'. Yet, resources that could be used for infrastructure are increasingly being used to
further imperialist interests abroad. One has to be careful when
one talks about theories of inflation/deflation. There's an ideological
reason behind these theories and unless one understands this, one
is condemned to committing foolish statements or worse, foolish
acts. Many are familiar with the theory that inflation is the result
of too many workers chasing too few goods. Does anyone really
believe that the hyper-inflation of the 20's and '30's in Germany was caused by workers asking for too much money?.......rather than focusing on the money supply, which does have some importance to properly circulate the things a nation produces, I think your time would be better spent in investigating the social relations that are found in commodity production. After all, capital isn't a thing, it's
a social relation......
